I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing services in the state of New Jersey. Ihave been a therapist for two years, having made a later-in-life transition fromprofessional communications. I had not anticipated how well that career would prepareme for this work, but storytelling equally relies on building a relationship, listening withopenness and exploring with curiosity to support the other person in sharing theirexperience.
I have also learned much on my personal journey about the importance of deeplyunderstanding and connecting with the Self. Your relationship with yourself is thefoundation of all other relationships; it’s the house you live in and the windows anddoors through which you see and interact with the world around you. It governseverything. How well do you know that space? How does it feel to live there, and how isthat impacting your perspectives and choices?
As such, my approach to therapy seeks to involve the whole person – mind, body andspirit – through a multitude of perspectives and techniques from Acceptance andCommitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, SomaticExperiencing, and Existential-Humanistic Therapy, among others. Most importantly, however, I adapt my approach to best align with what you need, want and are ready for;you are the tour guide, and I’m the tourist. I share insights about strengths, obstaclesand patterns that may be hidden by habit and routine. You decide what to incorporate inyour life, and how. In this collaborative experience, I have supported people throughanxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, self-esteem challenges, relationship issues, grief, chronic illness, and more.
